Freeman Legacy 1.1

Years had passed since that kiss in the library and Dianna and Sergio's hasty marriage. Years of love and commitment shared between the two. Their bond only grew stronger and neither regretted their quick romance even for a minute.

Their combined incomes gave the couple a small excess of money, much to Sergio's satisfaction, and together they bought a three-bedroom house. It was perfect for them, with a large wrap-around deck and a place out the back for a garden.

In this house, their love flourished. Every moment not at work was spent together, and as Dianna's books started to become bestsellers and Sergio's start-up company did better and better, the two spent as little time apart as possible.

Which eventually led to the growth of their family.

Throughout her pregnancy, Dianna didn't let herself slack off one bit. Her outdoors computer area gave her the inspiration she needed to put out novel after novel, more than enough to finance a baby room.

Nor did she let her garden suffer. Every day, she made sure to spend at least a little time outside, caring for her plants and helping them thrive.

It was during Dianna's pregnancy that Sergio had his adult birthday. Dianna couldn't be there to celebrate it with him, but she had made him a cake earlier that day. So when he came home from work, he found it sitting on the counter, a bunch of candles already on top, just waiting to be lit.

As the sparkles subsided, Sergio was certain that he could feel wrinkles forming on his face, and he spent quite a while that day looking in a mirror for grey hairs. But when Dianna returned home that night, she assured him that he looked no different from the day she met him outside a karaoke bar or the day she married him in the library.

It was in this way that Dianna's pregnancy passed, and it seemed like only days had passed before the night when she was woken by the first pains of labour.

Dianna woke Sergio quickly, trying not to let out too many sounds of pain, and they quickly got dressed and went to the hospital. Sergio was in a panic. He had never been around women in labour before. In fact, he had never spent much time around babies before either. He was pretty sure he didn't even like babies. But this one was not going to wait, and so Sergio tried to be as calm as possible as he helped his wife inside.

The local hospital had some very high-tech equipment, which had become customary for use during pregnancies. Dr Wolfgang Munch assured Dianna that it was the safest way to have a baby. So despite her trepidation about her baby being pulled from her by giant metal claws, Dianna lay on the table. The table retracted into the machine and as the anaesthetics started to do their work, Dianna felt a wave of calm wash over her, chasing away the pain she'd been feeling since waking up.

Sergio, however, could not keep calm. As his wife lay in the machine, so doped up on painkillers that she could barely register the world around her, he panicked in the corner. Eventually, Sergio got so loud that Dr Munch told him to either calm down or leave the room. Terrified at the thought of not being with Dianna through this, Sergio sat silently in a chair against the far wall.

But despite Sergio's fears, it wasn't long before it was all over, and their first child was born. Dianna held her baby in her arms, still feeling the effects of the medication, and smiled at the little baby looking up at her. It was a baby girl, who Dianna and Sergio named Helena.

By and large, Helena was a happy baby. She didn't want for anything, and during the first few months of her life, if ever she started crying, her mother would come running immediately. Dianna had decided to take a bit of time off from work after Helena was born. Not for long, but long enough that she could return to work without worrying about her baby all the time.

Even after Dianna went back to work, Helena rarely had to wait long for someone to come care for her. Sergio, who had always disliked children, couldn't find it in his heart to dislike this one. She had him wrapped around her little finger, and he knew that he would do anything to make sure that Helena would never be harmed.

His only worry was that he wouldn't always be there. Sergio was already into middle age, and by the time Helena started high school, he might very well be old and grey. But instead of focusing on the looming possible future, Sergio spent every moment holding his daughter, and being there for her while he could.

Hey! Thanks for reading Chapter 2 of the Freeman Legacy! A lot happened in this chapter - mainly because I didn't take any pictures between Dianna and Sergio getting married and when they got a house. So most of their young adulthood is undocumented, which is unfortunate because they were really cute. Any moment when I let either one do their own thing, they would want to go flirt with the other. They are quite possibly the cutest Sims 4 couple I've ever had.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and will continue to enjoy the legacy! See you next time!
